Standards and methodology

CrowdTechDaily helps readers evaluate emerging technology and crowdfunding campaigns by separating documented facts, maker claims, editorial analysis, and unresolved questions.

Last updated: October 15, 2026

Our editorial mission

Our goal is not to repeat launch-page marketing. We translate product claims into practical context, identify trade-offs, compare relevant alternatives, and surface the questions and risks readers should consider before backing or buying.

Types of coverage

  • Backer Guide or Campaign Analysis: an assessment based on public campaign materials, creator information, cited third-party sources, and editorial analysis. Unless explicitly stated, this does not mean we physically tested the product.
  • Hands-on Review: coverage based on direct use of a product. We aim to describe how the product was obtained, what was tested, the test period, and material limitations.
  • Launch Analysis or News: timely coverage of a new announcement, with claims attributed to their source and uncertainty made clear.
  • Comparison or Buying Guide: analysis organized around reader needs, alternatives, and trade-offs rather than campaign popularity alone.

How we evaluate crowdfunding campaigns

  1. Understand: What problem is the campaign trying to solve, and for whom?
  2. Verify: Which specifications and demonstrations are supported by available evidence, and which remain maker claims?
  3. Compare: What existing alternatives, prices, and practical trade-offs matter?
  4. Surface risk: What technical, manufacturing, software, safety, support, or delivery questions remain unresolved?

Evidence and attribution

We prefer primary sources for product specifications and campaign terms, while using independent sources for industry context, comparisons, and verification. Campaign pages, demonstrations, press kits, prototypes, and creator statements are treated as claims from the maker unless independently verified.

Funding totals and backer counts show campaign activity, not product quality, creator reliability, manufacturing readiness, or guaranteed delivery. Time-sensitive campaign figures should be tied to a capture date and displayed currency.

Testing and review language

We do not describe campaign demonstrations, specifications, renders, or third-party footage as hands-on testing. If we have not used the product, our wording should make that limitation clear. If a conclusion changes after testing or new evidence, we may update the article and note the material change.

Artificial intelligence and editorial responsibility

We may use software and AI-assisted tools to help organize research, compare documents, transcribe material, draft text, or check consistency. These tools do not replace source verification or editorial judgment. CrowdTechDaily remains responsible for the accuracy, labeling, and final publication of its content.

Commercial relationships

Affiliate commissions, advertising, sponsorships, review samples, or other material relationships do not guarantee coverage or a positive conclusion. Relevant relationships should be disclosed clearly. Sponsored content and paid placements will be labeled. See our Affiliate Disclosure.

Corrections and updates

We welcome specific correction requests supported by verifiable evidence. Minor spelling or formatting fixes may be made without a note. Material factual corrections or changes that affect the assessment should be disclosed in the article when practical. Opinions may differ from a creator’s preferred interpretation and are not corrected merely because they are unfavorable.

Product submissions and embargoes

Submitting a project, press release, sample, or briefing does not guarantee coverage. We do not accept confidential or embargoed information unless the terms have been agreed in advance. Creators may point out factual errors, but they are not promised pre-publication approval.

Crowdfunding and reader responsibility

Crowdfunding involves uncertainty. CrowdTechDaily does not guarantee that a campaign will ship, perform as described, provide refunds, or offer continuing support. Our content is informational and reflects the evidence available at publication. Readers should review the official campaign page, creator updates, reward terms, and delivery expectations before pledging.
